Catch Me If You Can Magazine Issue 3

"The history of the relationship between graffiti artists and tattoo artists is rich, and many tattooists and tattoo collects are also connoisseurs of graf. Both arts appeal to the underground, and both have long historical associations with outlaws and other outre' folks.

The graf magazine Catch Me If You Can has been in print for the last three years. It was founded by self-proclaimed "Hardcore Graf Head" Smooch, who takes about 70% of the pictures in the publication himself. Because the artists are working outside the law, the publication is unable to give artists credit for their work, so the magazine runs without captions. Ken, another Catch Me If You Can affiliate, tells us that the state of graffiti art has been expanding in recent years. "I think with the internet and computer programs out there now, it opened up the doors to a whole new era of graf. The internet has made it easier to get world-wide fame for the writer's work, and spray paint companies have designed paint especially for the graf writers."

If your one of the many tattoo fans who also follow the graf scene, this magazine is definitely worth checking out."

Catch Me If You Can Magazine Issue 4

The long awaited Issue No. 4 will not disappoint!

As you look over 250 top notch graffiti pictures and read an intense interview with Siddiq of the infamous Rhyme Sayers label, you will appreciate the wait for what could be the best domestic Graff mag to come out in years, if not ever... definitely a magazine that will propel the publication to historic levels.

Editor, Kenneth Ashley, reflects on personal experiences to enlighten the younger crowd on how Hip-Hop has strengthened in time. After I read the article, "Reflections", I personally recollected the excitement of how it felt once a new mix-tape arrived in the mail. I remember walking 45 minutes each day to check the mail and having a saddened feeling when no tape was waiting for me, but the thrill when one was. Back in the day, before Ipods and MP3 Players, we carried Boom Boxes that normally required 8 sized D batteries -- before the internet and the possibilities of downloading, our only means of getting new music was standard mail. Good memories......

Back to the magazine-
Legendary Graff writer Mac & Retna are contributers to the wealth of top notch quality pictures; Kenneth shares his Beer thoughts and an interview with DJ Too Tuff  from the Too Tuff Crew.

Also included in this phenomenal magazine is a pull out poster.

Binary Star - Masters of the Universe

the LA UNDERGROUND Label

"It's by far, the easiest review I've ever had to write.  It is, of course, Binary Star's Masters of the Universe.  When I first heard this album in 2000, I could not stop listening to it.  Thinking to myself - finally, an album, reminiscent of the Golden era Hip Hop, when artists had something to say.  Five years later and after wearing out three copies of this Hip Hop classic, I still bump it.  Binary Star introduced me to the independent Hip Hop scene, and more importantly, restored my faith in Hip Hop music.  Binary Star's Masters of the Universe is a  must have album in any collection."
